| Administrator  |  Grand Theft Auto IV World Record Shattered Grand Theft Auto IV News 26-year-old Chirantan Patnaik of Mumbai, India is now the world record holder for the longest play session of Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV. ZeeNews reports (via GamePolitics) Patnaik played GTA IV for over 40 hours straight, breaking the old record of 28 hours and 1 minute. Patnaik started playing at his home at 10 am on September 4 and ended at around 2 am on September 6. Guinness World Records verified the record, telling reporters in London Patnaik completed the session in front of several independent observers. Zapak.com, India's largest gaming portal, offered support for the new record holder. "We have always believed in the potential of Indian gamers. Chirantan's success is a proud moment for the Indian gaming industry. This will encourage more youngsters to take gaming seriously," said Rohit Sharma, COO of Zapak Digital Entertainment. Guinness says Patnaik was allowed one 10-minute break every hour. "But I took a total of four breaks during my entire game," he added. As for what plans Patnaik has for the future, he said he wants to better cement his record by playing for 48 hours straight.

| The enlightened one  | umm how would that as they say "This will encourage more youngsters to take gaming seriously," . Just by playing it for 40 hours. Also surely the people who with him should get it as well as they would have to stay up all that time just watching , must of been so boring XD
