N** series don't run on windows mobile. They run on Symbian OS, which is open source as far as I'm aware. It allows for many custom made apps. The iPhone never revolutionised anything. It showed that touch screen can make browsing easier. It was still flawed. Touch screen is awful for things like typing etc, and don't say it isn't, a qwerty key pad will be alot faster, and I bet a normal keypad is faster atm also. It was a highly popular phone because it was one of the very first touch screen phones that got mass-marketed, and the touch screen never sucked completely (which I will admit, the touchscreen on the iPhone is very good compared to some of the other touch screen phones on the market), and it was made by Apple, the creators of the iPod and iTunes, 2 very popular products, iPhone was bound to sell.

I know the N-Series runs on Symbian but the article also mentions that Symbian is starting to lose it's market share.

For mass amounts of typing nothing will ever beat a proper keyboard but most "normal" users can very quickly get to pretty much the same speed and accuracy as on a normal phone with the Iphone.

Light years behind more like. It's only advanced feature is it's touch screen and online app marketplace (App marketplace is only a new feature in phones anyway) Other than that, and honestly, not being bias or anything, it is TERRIBLE. It lacked many features that were the norm, it only sold this much cause of the "i" brand, it would of still sold never the less, but that's the main reason, it had insane marketing. It's not as good as everyone says it is, honestly. There is better phones, but none got the advertising the iPhone did. Like I said though, the iPhone's touch screen is the best yet in a phone, the rest, not so good.

I'm not a Windows fanboy at all, I don't have a Windows based phone. I have a N95 8GB atm, which I'm not gonna be all "it's the best phone ever", it's a very good phone, but calling it the best phone ever is silly, cause it isn't, and neither is the iPhone. If I had to choose between a iPhone and a N95, I'd take the N95 without thinking twice, it does everything the iPhone does and more. (Sure the iPhone does things the N95 doesn't) The only thing I like about the iPhone is the App store, I hear Nokia are making one for the N97 so I hope they pull it off.

But yea, iPhone isn't light years ahead, if anything, it's light years behind.

What it does the iphone does very very well - touchscreen, music and internet browser. If you want MMS or video you can get an app for it. If you really want bluetooth transfer, expandable memory beyond the 8 or 16gb or video calling then get another phone. Quite simple really.

I agree, the iPhone is great for internet browsing (not sure about music, but it's Apple... so it'd be wise to think it's good for music) and the touch screen is fantastic as I said. But the fact it doesn't have video recording, MMS as standard is down right stupid. You shouldn't have to download anything to do that, ever. It should be standard in phones now. (Atleast MMS, etc). Whoever thought it'd be a good idea to not include them should be fired.

And we know the only reason there isn't a memory slot is because they don't want people buying the base model for cheap then sticking a 32gig SD card in it.
