Xbox 360 CAN do mass market casual nonsense - Fable II Pub Games #1 on XBLA

Fable II Pub Games, which is little more than a paltry collection of short-lived mini games, is, for some reason, the most popular game on Xbox Live Arcade this week.

According the Mr Nelson, the "olde worlde" gold-winning collection of tat has beaten such proper games as Braid and Geometry Wars Evolved 2 this week, topping the Most Played online game chart.

Are people really that hyped for Fable II? Perhaps it's because of the widely publicised glitch that lets people build up cash? Perhaps it's because it's free if you've pre-ordered Fable II?

Or perhaps it's because Xbox 360, with all its price cuts and casual gaming incentives, is finally being bought by people who just want to play some rubbish slot machine game for five minutes rather than plough through Bioshock for five hours?
