Thread: Xbox Live to be discontinued

No need to panic, it's only for original Xbox games.

Microsoft is pulling the plug on the original Xbox as Xbox LIVE support is being discontinued for the console on April 15.

The discontinuation of Xbox Live extends to Xbox Originals and Xbox games playable on the Xbox 360.

"This isn't a decision we made lightly, but after careful consideration, it is clear this will provide the greatest benefit to the Xbox LIVE community," said Microsoft's Marc Whitten. First launched in 2002, Xbox LIVE has since become the cornerstone of Microsoft's console strategy, enjoying huge popularity on the Xbox 360 with some 23 million users.

Costs them more money than they make from it now to keep it online.

It also holds the 360's Live capabilities back. For example, they can now start increasing the friends list size.

There are loads of old classics on the xbox which have still not seen the light of day on 360. They going to be disconecting classics which still to be matched or made for 360 like Black arrow/rainbow six 3 (best rainbow six), Counter Strike, Star Wars Battlefront etc.

Doesn't Rainbow Six 3 work on the 360? I'm sure I saw an article about it not long ago. You get it free with another game.

ive played some old xbox gamer and that make me look urg the graphics and movment are terrible compare than xbox 360 graphics are sooo awesome

Do remember that the Xbox 1 is from like 9 years ago lol. When it was released the graphics were awesome.
